Other than G-SET, Esau might be my favorite Bobby tune ever. I think it's brilliant.

Which lines do folks prefer, the earlier "Esau he's on roller skates today/selling real estate to someone in LA"

Or the later "esau skates on mirrors anymore/and greets his pale reflection at the door"?

neither make much sense but i prefer the latter.

Has to be the first or original lyrics. Makes more sense and continuity with what happen to Esau as he grew older. He sold out or shook off his Vietnam demons and become a member of society. Or at least that what I think it means.
